What is Botox?

Botox is the brand name for a neuromodulator injectable made of a type of purified botulinum toxin. Botox is used to temporarily relax or inhibit muscle movements that cause wrinkles.

When will I see results and how long will they last?

In most cases, the first noticeable results will begin within three days. You will achieve maximum results within 1-2 weeks.

On average, Botox results will last 3-4 months.

What should I do to prepare for my botox appointment?

Before your appointment we recommend that you:

Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior to treatment
Avoid aspirin, NSAIDs, and other blood thinners for at least three days prior to treatment

After treatment, we recommend that you:

Avoid rubbing/massaging the area at injection sites
Keep head upright for 4-6 hours
Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours
Avoid alcohol and exposure to the sun for 24 hours
Avoid facials, peels, etc. for at least 24 hours

What can I expect during my appointment?

Our mobile nurse practitioner will arrive at your home or office and set up. She will then go over your goals and concerns as well as perform a detailed assessment. After the assessment, the nurse practitioner will give you an approximate amount of units needed and discuss total cost. The botox injections will take 15-30 minutes using a tiny needle. Most patients report minimal to no pain.
